Joan & Jerry – Wedded in Wheaton
Remember Joan & Jerry’s Engagement shoot back last spring… well here are a few shots from their wedding!!! I didn’t mention this in my last post about them, but Jerry and I go far back… sort of. Jerry and I were friends back freshman year of high school and we met as we both attended Wheaton North High School. My family was in america only for a year before we went back to France, so I soon lost contact with him (this was in the pre facebook era)… and almost a decade later, his fiancée finds me on google!! haha, the world is freakishly small at times. It took us a little time to figure out that we knew each other back in the day… but seriously — how weird is that?
enough talkin’… more picture postin’

Joan’s mother’s first glance at her all bridaled up! (is that a word? it is now I guess…)

They got married at the Blanchard Alliance Church in Wheaton, which is a stone throw away from my apartment! I like it when I can travel to weddings by foot… its green! (although I did end up driving… eco-friendliness fail)

I wasn’t going to post group shots… but this one was ever so slightly Epic! I believe that was a shout out to the kind of pop… but then again, Jerry might just have been innovating.

they got hitched and went into hiding downstairs… where I followed to stalk some more.

I soon realized I was digging the harsh lighting in this stairwell…. so when the party went on ahead we stayed behind to snap a few shots

we then went off to Cantigny Park where we ran into a few other parties… haha… awkward?

mad props to Jerry for being insanely good at making Joan laugh/smile/happy!

As you might know… I think its important to get at least one really good clean shot of the two of them looking straight into the camera. One that grandma will want… but that everyone will like as well! This is that shot for the day

then back to the Cantigny Golf Club for the reception just as the set behind the head table… swank.

They then surprised us all with a bit of salsa dancing right in the middle of their first dance.

Tcha Tcha real smooth… Can you get down low, all the way to the flo’?

then a bit of chaos as they all prepared for the sparkler exit…

FAVE OF THE DAY (and last shot of the day) all lit by sparklers…
